Breaking Barriers is designed to be a safe place for you to explore, grow and even experience victory and healing over your addiction from a Biblical, Christ-centered perspective. This group is not designed to provide programmed answers to the struggle of addiction but, rather, to present THE PERSON – Jesus Christ – as the way to freedom!

We all struggle with something but if your “something” is consistently creating a major problem in your life or is presenting a BARRIER to your relationship with God and/or others, we invite you to consider attending Breaking Barriers.

  • GriefShare at Calvary Church is a support group for those who are experiencing deep grief. Our group is open to everyone, whether or not you attend Calvary or any other church, regardless of your relationship to the person who died, no matter the length of time that has passed since the loss, or any previous history with other support groups or counseling, you are welcome at GriefShare. We also welcome family members or friends who want to attend to learn how to better support you during this time. While each cycle of GriefShare consists of 13 sessions, you are welcome to join at any point and attend the next session to catch up on weeks you missed. Our goal is to provide you with resources and information concerning the journey of grief, and to provide an environment where you can talk about your experiences with others who are also experiencing grief. Our leaders have walked the journey of grief and have worked in this ministry for many years. They are not counselors, however, and we do not strive to provide counseling.

We meet at our Souderton Campus on Wednesdays at 7:00pm, in Room 218. A Spring session begins in late January and another Fall session begins in early September.

  • Learning to Breathe Again is a support group for women who need to heal from sexual abuse. It's a support group that will love you, pray with you and help guide you through the understanding of the hurt experienced from sexual abuse. Our group will help you move from victim to survivor with God's guidance and grace.

Our group meets between 12-14 weeks, and we will complete a workbook called "Shelter from the Storm." Meeting with a counselor alongside this group is suggested but not required. This group is not a therapy group. We are a self-help group in which members help each other by talking in a safe, loving environment.

Let us help you on your healing journey.

“Who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.”

Frequently Asked Questions

  • All are welcome! No really, it doesn’t matter who you are, what you’ve experienced or what your convictions are. Each group is biblically based with a focus on the hope of Jesus, prayer and relational support.

  • Just come and observe if you’d like. Most of our groups are based on curriculum and are interactive if you choose. You don’t have to participate or feel the need to share. The hardest thing can be walking through the door that first night so we want you to feel welcomed and a sense of belonging no matter where you are in your journey. We’ve had some people attend for months and never say a word, we’ve had some people find this is the only place that they can finally share everything that they’ve kept inside. Support looks different for everyone and we are grateful for the opportunity to meet you where you are.

  • All are centered at our Souderton Campus. Check the descriptions under each support group listed above for specific information on start dates/times. Some groups maintain a confidential phone line and email address where you can talk directly to a leader and get up to date support and information rather than making info public on the website.

  • Most groups allow for people to come at any time while they are running and are considered “open” groups. If a group is referred to as “cohort” that means that based on the curriculum, the best experience is from start to finish with the same small group of people. They would recommend starting in the next cohort but check and contact the support group facilitator whose email contact is listed under the group’s description for additional information.

  • No, just yourself! Some groups have workbooks but they are not necessary and will have extras for you. You have the option of buying your own workbook if you want to continue attending. We don’t want finances to prevent anyone from participating so please let a leader know if you need assistance in getting a book.

  • Support groups are run by individuals with lived experience and are not licensed counselors. The goal is to provide you with support and resources in an environment that is safe to share with people who understand, have been there, and can extend hope to you. There is no fee for any of the groups. If you are looking for individual counseling support, please visit BuxMont Counseling center at www.buxmontcounseling.com.
